NOOOOO CYRPESS, DON'T WALK INTO THE LIGHT!

This is my half of an art trade with which I used as a post school excuse to work on my digital painting skills. I've been trying to teach myself how to paint digitally all school year by forcing myself to sit in one of Emerson's computer labs until I didn't hate computers anymore and you know what? It worked!

Technique wise, as far as digital art is concerned, I'm still trying to find a way to get a look I like. I would have preferred to have tightened up the colors some in this but you know after three nights of working on it I just feared over-working the drawing.

Adam asked me to draw Cypress, who has a pretty sweet character design and I was pretty excited to get to draw him. Adam has excellent character design skills in general and has characters of varying body types (unlike...Me.) Painting a desert was pretty fun too most of my settings are more forestry due to my mild obsession with trees.

Also, half way through painting this all I could think was the song Desert Rose by Sting...Hence the name. I mean, I don't think i've heard that song since I was a kid. But no joke.
